Eliza in Fall 2014

Eliza is a sweet girl through and through. Her joy shines everyday.

She loved playing in the leaves this fall. And there were lots of leaves to play with at the grandparents' homes. 

Her favorite activity is going down the slide, any slide.

I'm pretty sure she would spend all day eating food if she could. When I asked her in January if she remembered eating watermelon, she said to me, "Eat watermelon at grandma and papa Fafin's house." I was surprised that months later she remembered such a small thing. 

I gave her maybe an inch of an nutri-grain bar and this is the mess she made. I guess it really is true; "if its not all over the place, it doesn't belong in your face."

Eliza reads her books for long periods of time everyday. She will sit in the brown chair in her room and read while daddy showers. 

She has also learned where the other children's books are located and likes to get new books to read. I think it's time to start visiting the public library. 

Eliza loves to sing 3 songs before her nap, They are "Teach Me to Walk in the Light", "Families are Forever", and "I love to see the Temple." So we often have talks about the temple. She also has a picture of the SLC Temple by her bed and we tell her often that that is where her mommy and daddy got married. 

Eliza loves her grandparents. I love that she gets to spend so much time with each of them. 

Matt's 35th Birthday

We were lucky enough to get to celebrate Matt's birthday with Michelle's family. Eliza and Sophia had tons of fun playing together.

A new baby on the way for July 2015

It was really exciting, after a miscarriage in January, to announce at the end of October that we were expecting baby #2. And to make it more fun my sister-in-law, Janelle, and I had the same due date.  So when Janelle announced she was pregnant basically the same day we both found out, I knew we must be so close together. That changed a little after many appointments. My due date was July 2 and hers was July 3. I called her and she was the first to know....even before Matt.  

I decided to announce it by making Eliza a cute onsie. This is how I told everyone including Matt. To those that could not see Eliza in person, I sent out the picture and the announcement was made. 

In the end, we lost the baby at just over 18 weeks. But that is a story for another blog.

We love visiting daddy at work!

Since we let go of Matt's car, we have been a one-car family. So we take Matt to work and pick him up. Fortunately it's only a mile from where we live and there has been occasion when Matt has needed to walk. But usually we go get him and sometimes we need to stick around a bit while he finishes his work. So Eliza finds many things to do to entertain herself: including sitting in the chairs, following daddy around and sitting in his lap at his desk, spinning the brochures, and reading the magazines. Eliza has made some new friends visiting with daddy's coworkers. They sing songs with here, give her little toys, and of course sometimes there are treats that get shared.
